Details of this free Windows 8 Cloud Storage App:
Like I said before, this app is the official Bitcasa client app for Windows 8. Therefore you can upload almost everything. When you launch the app for the first time, you’ll need a Bitcasa account in order to use this free Windows 8 cloud storage app. If you don’t have a Bitcasa account, then you can easily create one within the app itself. All you have to do is press Win + I keys. This opens the Windows 8 Settings charm. Simply click on the Account button. Besides this, the app also lets you connect to Bitcasa cloud using your Twitter or Facebook account.

Working on this free Windows 8 cloud storage app is pretty easy and is just like the way you work on your PC. I liked the metro interface. It’s clean. Switching between screens is smooth. However to some point, the speed of the app also depends on your internet speed.
Uploading files works fine. And once they get uploaded, you can view them within the app. The good point here is that this Windows 8 cloud storage app lets you watch videos within the app; without any need to download the video. The videos get buffered very quick. Besides that you can also watch videos in full screen or in normal mode. You can also share these videos plus photos with friends using the Windows 8 Share Charm.
To upload a file simply make a right click on any screen, and click on the Upload button on the flyout. This free Windows 8 cloud storage app also lets you delete files from the cloud. You can do that by opening the file first and then use the Delete button. Same are the steps for downloading a file, the only difference is that you’ll have to choose the Download button here.

Bitcasa is a handy Windows 8 cloud storage app. It’s a good medium to get an access to your Bitcasa account directly from the Windows 8 Start screen, rather than opening Bitcasa by a time consuming process on your web browser. Albeit, the app advertises infinite cloud storage, but only 10 GB of data storage is free. Still that’s a decent amount of space for free. Also some of the features are still missing like pinning a screen, option to upload a folder, and selecting multiple files for downloading. Still the app fulfills its purpose. All and all, a good free Windows 8 cloud storage app.
