Tentacles: Enter the Mind is a free adventure game for Windows 8 and 8.1 devices. The app has been developed by Microsoft Studios, and the gameplay graphics and performance is simply mind blowing! When you launch the app, you will be asked to sign in with your Microsoft id, and when you do so, you will be logged in to your Xbox Live account in the game, and all your achievements will be backed up across all your Windows 8 and 8.1 devices. In the game, you have to guide the tentacles inside the professor’s brain to hatch his evil plan of killing all the cute creatures. When you install and launch Tentacles: Enter the Mind on your device, you will be presented with a short in game movie which tells you about the story of the game and why you have to do what you are doing. The gameplay movie looks nice and a snapshot of the same is shown below.
As soon as the movie skips through, the gameplay starts. In fact the gameplay is so well designed that the gameplay movie directly blends in to the gameplay, and you can immediately start playing. The gameplay is shown in the below screenshot.
In the game, you play as the slimy tentacles and you can click on objects to stick to them. You have to move in this manner over all the objects, collecting coins, etc. along the way and killing the creatures who attack you. If your health gets too low, you can aim a tentacle at the creatures’ eyeballs with your mouse and you can thus consume eyeballs to gain health. You can pause the game at any time by either clicking on the Pause button at the top right, or you can press the Esc. key. The pause menu gets revealed as soon as you pause the game, and this menu allows you to have a quick look at your achievements etc.
The stage gets completed when you reach the brain at the end of the stage. Here, another slimy creature tells you about your next mission.
The rewards that you get are given to you at the end of the stage that you play. When you die, you are shown your achievements, and you can also choose to revive the tentacles for a cost (the revive tokens will help you in doing so).
