Free Windows 8 Video Player App: Super Player
Super Player is a freely available app for Windows 8 and 8.1 which allows you to play back videos of a variety of formats on your device. The app is lightweight and designed in a metro style interface where you can easily play back videos on your device by browsing through the metro file browser interface and choosing the file which you wish to play back. The video playback interface is minimalistic and makes for a great way to run the videos on your device without any hiccups whatsoever.

Super Player makes for a great way to watch videos on your device. The app’s main interface is shown in the screenshot below.
In the above screen, you can choose to open a file for playback by clicking on the folder icon at the center right of the screen. Clicking on this icon will present you with a file browser interface which allows you to select the file that you wish to play back on your device by navigating in the familiar looking metro file explorer and once that has been done, you will be taken to the video playback interface with all the playback controls visible on your screen.
You can play, pause, seek etc. from the bar at the bottom of the screen.
