Free Video Player App For Windows 8: Media Player 525
Media Player 525 is a free video player app for Windows 8 and 8.1 in which you can easily select the media files that you wish to play back on your device with just a few clicks. When you launch the app, you can open a file via the Open button which will bring up the file browser pane enabling you to quickly select a file that you wish to play back. Once that is done, you will be presented with the video playback interface which will be played back to you in a small window size, and this can even be switched to a full screen player interface via the controls at the bottom of the video player interface which allows you to maximize the video playback, and also allows you to play, pause, etc., or in other words, allows you to control the video playback.
Media Player 525 also supports multitasking by allowing you to snap it to either side of the screen, and also continues to play back the video file even while fully minimized. The app is available for free from the Windows App Store.

When you install and run the Media Player 525 app on your Windows 8 or 8.1 device, you will be presented with an interface which looks like the below screenshot.
In the above screen, simply click on the Open File button at the top right of the screen, and you will be presented with the file browser interface. Navigate to the location in which you have stored the video file which you wish to play back, and it will be played back almost instantly on your device. When the file has been selected and the video playback has been started, you will be presented with the video playback interface as can be seen below.
In the above screen, you can see the video being played back. You can also control the video playback from the toggles at the bottom of the video player. You can maximize the video player and also seek, play, pause etc. from the playback control bar.
