Free Windows 8 App To Blur Your Photos: Tholotis – Blur
Tholotis – Blur is a free app for Windows 8 and 8.1 which allows you to easily blur the images that you have clicked on your device. When you launch the app, you will be shown a simple interface where you will be able to select the image file via the big button at the center of the screen. As soon as you click on it, you will be taken to the file explorer screen from where you will be able to navigate to the location where your images are stored. Select the image which you wish to blur and the next thing you know, the image will be opened up within the app. From here you can choose to blur it via a slider at the center of the screen. Tholotis – Blur aims at creating the perfect wallpapers for your desktop as the icons are way more clearly visible on blurred images than a completely sharp image. The images created or altered with Tholotis – Blur can also be used for other purposes as well.

When you install and launch Tholotis – Blur on your device, you will be presented with the below screen.
In the above screen, simply click on the upward facing arrow button at the very center of the screen. This button is pretty large, and hence you can’t really miss it. When you click on this button, you will be taken to the familiar file explorer screen. From here you will be able to choose the image file that you wish to open up in the app to blur it. When you have successfully selected an image, you will be shown the below screen.
To blur the image, simply drag the slider below the upward facing arrow button to a desired level where you are satisfied with the amount of blur in the image. I was satisfied with the amount of blur shown in the screenshot below.
To save the image, simply right click on the screen to reveal the control bar and press the Export button. Before you know it, your image will be saved in the Pictures library, and you will be shown a confirmation message on your screen regarding the same.

Tholotis – Blur is a pretty decent, lightweight and handy app which can be easily used to transform your photo into a high resolution wallpaper for your device. The app allows you to blur your photo easily without you having the need to download and install any other complicated photo editor applications. The learning curve of the app is next to zero, and this is one of the reasons as to why I love this app!
