Jelly Smash with Angry Gran is available for free from the Windows App Store, and this game will surely remind you of Candy Crush Saga.
Features of this Windows 8 Block Breaker Game…
When you launch the game, you will be presented with the following screen.
Clicking on the Play button in the above screen will take you to the level selection screen. The game gives you access to 50 levels. The level selection screen looks like the below screenshot.
As I have just started playing the game, so only Level 1 is unlocked for me. As you keep clearing the levels, more levels keep getting unlocked. You lose a life when you fail to clear the level that you have started, as each failed attempt costs a life. As you can see in the below screenshot, a small set of instructions will be shown to you when you start the game for the first time. Click on OKAY! button to skip these.
Once the game has started, all you have to do is to start popping jellies! As you can see in the below screenshot, pairing up of 3 jellies makes them pop with a nice squishy effect.
When you combine 4 or more jellies together, you get special jellies. Special jellies can be combined with each other for mind blowing results!
Combining the above two special jellies produces a result that clears all the jellies in one shot! You can also combine the special jelly with two more jellies of the same color. You can see the effect of combining the two special jellies below.
Once the game has been completed, you will be shown the result screen, where you will be given a star rating depending on how you performed in the game. Throughout the game, you can keep track of your score, remaining moves/time at the section on the left.
Well, this is all there is to the game Jelly Smash with Angry Gran.
Things I like…
- Nice graphics.
- Runs smoothly.
- Supports a lot of devices, even those without graphic cards.
Things I don’t like…
- Limited levels.
- Limited lives (which get recharged with time).
- Blatant Candy Crush Saga rip-off!
Jelly Smash with Angry Gran is a great game to enjoy with family or friends. The game has nice graphics, and best of all, clocking in at only 19Mb, this is very lightweight and can be downloaded off connections with limited data caps as well without worrying much. Overall, I really love this game. My only qualms with the game are that it only has 50 levels, and lives are limited. I also don’t quite like the fact that there is lack of originality in the game’s concept, as it immediately reminds you of Candy Crush Saga. So yeah, it does lose points for that.
I rate this game a 4 out of 5.
