Windows 8 Image Viewer App By Sony: Album by Sony
Album by Sony is the official image viewer app for Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 devices developed by Sony. The app has a nice design to it, and is incredibly slick and great looking. When you install and launch the app for the first time on your device, you will be presented with an interface where you will be asked to approve the license agreement, and upon doing that, you will be taken to the main interface of this image viewer app for Windows 8, where you will be able to browse all your images stored in the Pictures library. The app allows you to browse by a lot of views, and supports gestures like pinch zoom, etc. on touch screen devices. The app is extremely lightweight and ad free as well.

Features of Album by Sony for Windows 8 and Windows 8.1…
When you install and launch the Album by Sony app on your Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 device, you will be presented with the license agreement screen if this is the first time that you are running this app. The license screen can be seen easily below.
All you have to do is to click on the Agree button, and once you have done that, you will be taken to the main screen of the app itself which can be seen clearly in the below screenshot. As you can see, this image viewer app immediately shows you the image files stored in the default Pictures library on your Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 device, and you will be presented with a tiled interface of these pictures. You can then click on any of these images to choose to view them in full screen size.
You can see that the images are sorted according to the date that they were stored on your device, and this gives you an easy way to manage your images. When you click on an image, you will be taken to the full screen viewer interface which can be seen in the below screenshot.
You can click on the arrow buttons on either side of the screen in the full screen viewer interface to scroll to the next or the previous image. When you click on the arrow button, the app smartly pops up a preview of all the images in that particular folder, so you can also choose to click on a preview to open up that particular image in full screen view.
If you right click on the screen in the full screen image viewer interface, you will be shown the control bar of the app that you can see in the below screenshot. The control bar gives you access to a variety of features like allowing you to view the slideshow of images, etc.
You can click on the back arrow button perched at the top left corner of the screen at any point of time to be taken back to the previous screen. Album by Sony is a well designed app that has no ads, is lightweight and offers a great and seamless image viewing experience on your Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 devices. The app being an official one from Sony, is guaranteed to have future updates and bugfixes in the long run, and hence it’s safe to say that it’s a truly reliable image viewer app!
