Samurai Defender Free is a free battle game for Windows 8 and 8.1. The game requires an active internet connection to run. Once downloaded, it will download some additional resources which will take a little time to download, so be patient during this phase. The game is pretty lightweight and is based on the principle of mouse clicks. All you have to do is click on the Start Battle button and then click on the oncoming soldiers to attack them. The gameplay experience offered by the game is smooth and the battlefield is designed in a 2D format.

When you run the game for the first time, it will download some data in the following manner.
When the data is downloaded, you will be taken to a screen where you will be able to start the game via the big Start button at the center of the screen.
Once you click on the Start button, you will be presented with another screen where you will be able to input your name. Your profile will be created with this name.
Simply enter your name and click on the OK button. Now, you will be presented with a prompt where you can choose to view the tutorial of the game. I chose to skip that as the game is basically just based on clicking on the oncoming enemies. In the below screen, click on the Start Battle button to enter the gameplay interface.
Once inside, you will be able to see the enemies oncoming in the below fashion.
Just click on the oncoming soldiers and the archer perched at the top of the castle door will shoot arrows at them, thereby killing them. You can see your stats at the top and the remaining castle health at the bottom left. Once the level is complete, you will see a confirmation prompt regarding the same.
