Muffin Quest is a free match 3 game app for Windows 8 and 8.1 which allows you to match three or more similar muffins or pastries to create a match. In the game, you can easily control the game by clicking and dragging the similar muffins or pastries together either horizontally or vertically. The game has nice graphics and takes you to a level selection screen as soon as you launch it. The score is displayed at the top and the level objectives at the top left. The first level also has a tutorial which will help you understand the controls of the game better.

When you run the game, you will be presented with the below screen almost immediately.
This is the level selection screen. Simply click on any one of the unlocked levels, and your gameplay should start instantly. I chose the level 1.
As you can see, the first level has a brief tutorial to help you understand the controls of the game better. It is an assisted level where you will be told what to do and what not to do. From level 2 onwards however, you are on your own. You can see that I have made a match in the screenshot below.
You can see the score etc. at the top, and the objective of needed pastries at the top left. You can also choose to pause the game either by clicking on the pause button at the top right or by pressing the Esc. button. Once you have completed the level, you will be presented with your game statistics.
Here, you can choose to restart the level, go to the level selection screen or choose to play the next level. This sums up the main features of Muffin Quest for Windows 8 and 8.1.
