Free Yammer App for Windows 8
Yammer is a free app for Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 devices that allows you to network with your business co workers online with ease. When you launch the app, you will be asked to sign up or login to the app, and upon doing that, you will be taken to the main screen of the app itself where you will be able to access the feeds, post messages to the groups, etc. If you wish to know more about what Yammer is, head on here. Features of Yammer for Windows 8 and Windows 8.1
When you install and launch Yammer on your Windows 8 or your Windows 8.1 device, you will be presented with an interface which looks like the below screenshot.
In the above screen, you can either choose to sign in or sign up for Yammer. Once you have chosen either of the two options and logged in, you will be taken to the main screen of the app itself wherein you will be able to read the feeds by your co workers or friends. These feeds are available in a nice tiled format.
You can comment on or reply to the feeds by clicking on the options for the same at the end of each feed. You can also post a message via the Post a message button in the top right corner of the screen. The app supports opening a lot of formats within the app itself, PPT, PDF, and Word being a few examples. When you click on Post a message at the top right, you will be presented with the message creation dialog which looks like the below screenshot.
When you choose to open an attachment that someone has sent to you to your inbox or from your feed in the main screen of the app, you will be taken to the attachment viewer screen from where you can either choose to view the attachment or to download it.
You can see that a .ppt file attachment is open in the above screen. You can see the option to download it at the bottom of the screen in the control bar towards the right. You can click on the back button at any time to return to the main screen of the app. The app also supports snapped mode, which is a great feature! When you are working on something, you can snap the app to the side of the screen, and you will still be able to access the inbox.
You can compose messages from the snapped mode itself, and overall, this is a pretty nice touch if you ask me. This concludes the how to on using the Yammer app on your Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 devices. I do hope that you will enjoy the Yammer experience on your Windows 8 device with this app!

Yammer is an excellent desktop client for Yammer in Windows 8 app format. The app supports all the features that Yammer for the web supports, and is highly polished. I do recommend checking it out if you are a Yammer user!
