The Podcast Source is available for free from the Windows App Store.
Main features of The Podcast Source for Windows 8:
When you install and launch the game on your Windows 8 or 8.1 device, you will be presented with a horizontally scrollable list of podcast source tiles that come built in to the app. You can click on any one of these tiles to start the podcast playback.
In the above screen, you can also see a control bar which is open at all times at the bottom of the screen. In this control bar, you can click on the Recently Played button to see the list of podcasts that you have recently played using the app. When you click on the add new show button in the main screen, you will be presented with the below interface.
As you can see above, you will be able to add through RSS feed or by searching through the app. Talking about searching, the app has a massive database from where you can search for and look up podcasts. The search results are also shown in a tiled layout, and hence the design of the app is kept in a way that it stays as close to the metro environment as is possible. The search results of music are shown below.
In the main screen of the app, if you look closely to the top of the screen, you will be able to see an area where you can click on the See All button. When you click on that, you will be able to see all the available channels in the app.
You can also choose to sort this content via the control bar, and again, you can click on any of the channels to be taken to the playback screen where you will be presented with a standard player interface with controls to play or pause the podcast. This basically wraps the main features of The Podcast Source app for Windows 8 and 8.1.
The Podcast Source is a very well designed app for Windows 8 and 8.1 devices with almost all types of podcasts that you can listen to. The app has a lot of categories of podcasts, including educational, travel, music etc. and hence it is perfect for listeners of all types!
