Fly At High Altitudes And Race In Hexoid 3D

Hexoid 3D is a free game app for Windows 8 and 8.1 in which you have to race your futuristic jet on a hovering road in the air. The app is very lightweight and offers some really smooth and intense graphics which are sure to keep you glued to your screen. The controls of the game are pretty easy, with the arrow keys allowing you to control the motion of the jet, A and D keys allowing you to use air brakes. These controls, although look easy on paper, are pretty hard to implement as the jet goes upto speeds of over 900 Km/hr and executing the brakes at the correct time is pretty essential. If you fall off the track, its game over.

Hexoid 3D is available for free from the Windows App Store.

Up Arrow: Accelerate the craft.

Right Arrow: Turn Right.

Left Arrow: Turn Left.

A, D: Air Brakes.

Main features of Hexoid 3D for Windows 8 and 8.1:

When you install and run Hexoid 3D on your Windows 8 or 8.1 device, you will be shown a screen which looks like the screenshot below.

Hexoid 3D main screen

As you can see above, you can choose to start the game via the Start button, and you can also choose to change the controls layout via the Controls button. The Quality button allows you to tweak the graphics quality of the game, and may come handy if you have an old machine which doesn’t support high end graphics. You can also toggle Godmode on or off which allows you to change the game over settings in a way that even if you fall off the track, you spawn again back on the track instead of the game getting over for you. When you click on the Start button, you will be shown the start line of the race track. Now, all you have to do is to wait for the reverse countdown from 3 to get over, and as soon as GO comes up on your screen, press your up arrow button to give your craft a boost.Hexoid 3D gameplay

The game has some ruggedly awesome graphics if I say so myself. The blue booster light emitted from the rear of your craft gives you a feel of speed, and it’s not just the feel of speed – the craft actually flies at speeds upto and maybe even over 900 km/hr (I could take it to 857 before I crashed!). The speed of the craft is shown in real time at the bottom of the screen, and the green meter shows the percentage of speed that you are travelling at. You can see the laps remaining at the top right, and you can see the time elapsed in your race at the top center of the screen. After the game, you will see a screen which will show you the time duration for which you could last on the track.
