A Bird’s Journey is available for free from the Windows App Store.
Main features of A Bird’s Journey for Windows 8 and 8.1:
When you download and run the game on your device, you will be able to see the gameplay screen which looks like the below screenshot.
In the main screen of the game, you will be able to start the gameplay, view the game shop, access the game options or see your achievements. For now, let’s click on the Play button and see how the gameplay of the game looks and feels like.
In the gameplay screen that is shown above, you will be able to see your health meter at the left side of the screen. The controls of the game are similar to the FlappyBird game, where you have to click on the screen to keep the bird airborne and avoid it from falling into the sea or hitting the obstacles. As you flap the bird to keep it airborne, you will be able to see that the health of the bird decreases with each flap that it makes, but it also recharges when the bird is not flapping. The aim of the game is to find the perfect balance between keeping the bird airborne and not using too many flaps in order to make the health of the bird last longer, and allow it to go a longer distance. You can see your score at the top of the screen. Once the game is over, you will be able to see the various achievements that you have unlocked.
When you click on the OK button in the above screen, you will be able to see the post game menu where you will be able to access the different menus of the game.
When you click on the Options button, you will be presented with the game options menu which looks like the below screenshot.
In the above menu, you will be able to tweak settings like turning on or off the tutorial, sound on or off, reset the game, view the credits or see more games by the same developer. Overall, this sums up the main features of the game in a nutshell.
A Bird’s Journey is a very well designed game for Windows 8 and 8.1 where the entire scene is set in an environment which looks as if it’s made entirely out of paper cut outs. The game is extremely well designed, and the controls are very fluid to say the least. It works well on tablets and laptops alike, and thus is a great game for any and all devices running Windows 8 or 8.1.
I rate it a 4 out of 5!
