Free Windows 8 Learning Game: Skoolbo Core Skills
Skoolbo Core Skills is a free learning game for Windows 8 and 8.1 which is perfect for kids. The game is based on designing a character for your kid and then simply starting off the game. Once started, the game will take you through a series of various gameplay levels, starting from literacy test, numeral test, etc. In the game, you are basically racing against the other two players who are controlled by the computer itself, and the race takes place in air on your own sweet looking aircraft. The only way to accelerate and get ahead of the other racers is to answer the questions asked at the bottom of the screen correctly in as less time as is possible. For instance, for literacy test, questions asked will be related to the English language, and for the numeral test, questions related to Math will be asked. The game’s graphics are through the roof!

Features of Skoolbo Core Skills:
When you launch the game, you first have to create an id for your kid by clicking on the Create Child Account button in the main screen. Once you do that, you will be shown the below screen.
Once you are happy with your input, click on the tick button at the bottom right and you will be taken to the character creation screen. This screen is absolutely fantastic and allows you to change the skin tone, eye color, clothing, gender etc. all while being able to see a live 3D character donning the same in real time. This gives a pretty good example for how exemplary the game’s graphics are. You can see the character design screen in action below.
Above you can see that I have designed a character. Once you are happy with the design, click on the OKAY button at the bottom right. Now, you will be brought to the game’s main menu.
Just click on the Play button at the center, and your game will start! The game has a series of various tests to encourage the learning process of your kids in as many areas as is possible. The first test on the list is Literacy test.
Once started, you will see a gameplay screen like the below shown screen.
In the background you will see a voice that announces the name of the word which you have to select. Once you hear the voice, you have to click on the corresponding word at the bottom of the screen. Once a correct word is clicked, your flying aircraft will boost ahead. You can see the other players at the left side of the screen. Once the game is complete, you will be able to see your score and statistics.
The next, you will be able to see a number game which you can play in a similar way by selecting the correct option from the bottom of the screen.
You can also see that the graphics of the game are a complete stunner! The game makes for a great add on, on your device if you have kids!
