Manage And Grow Your Own Farm With Farm Up
Farm
Farm Up is available for free from the Windows App Store.
Main features of Farm Up for Windows 8 and 8.1:
The game starts off with a conversation between Jane and her grandmother about how Jane’s great grandmother looked exactly like her. She then proceeds to tell her that she purchased a farm and grew stuff to sustain her family. A clip from this conversation can be seen in the screenshot attached.
The story then goes into flashback, and suddenly, you are the great grandmother. This is a really cool way to introduce the game and gives a bit of a background feel to it. Once you are taken into flashback, the first thing you have to do is to buy a farm.
Once you have purchased the farm, you can do all sorts of stuff like growing crops, raising cattle, harnessing milk produce, selling it all in the market, buying recreational stuff etc. If it’s the first time you are playing the game, the previous owner of the farm will help you out with your farm till you are accustomed with the various ways of planting, etc.
You can see above that when you plant crops, your energy and coins get expended. The energy points are shown at the top of the screen, and so are the experience points, the gold, special collectibles and the coins. To plant crops, you have to access the game’s shop from the bottom right of the game screen.
You can purchase the seeds from here. Then you can go ahead and sell your crops in the barn once the produce is complete. Throughout the game, you level up on completing certain tasks. This is shown by means of a popup on your screen.
As the game runs on energy points, you might run into a problem wherein you run out of energy to complete certain tasks. Then you have to wait for your energy to recharge up again.
The entire game is based on mouse clicks and you can also use touch gestures on touch enabled devices. This wraps the main features of Farm Up for Windows 8 and 8.1.

The verdict:
Farm Up is a pretty nice farm game designed for Windows 8 and 8.1 the only catch being the limited amount of energy that you get to complete tasks. The game at higher levels might get pretty difficult because of lack of enough energy points, maybe even forcing you to buy more energy. Leaving all that aside, it’s a pretty good game, and I would definitely recommend atleast giving it a shot!
