Main features of Jewels of East India Company:
When you install and run the Jewels of East India Company app on your Windows 8 or 8.1 device, you will be greeted with the main interface of the app which looks like the below screenshot.
Click on the Continue button at the bottom of the screen displayed in the above screenshot to be taken to the next screen. Here, you can create your profile, choose the game’s difficulty level, etc. Once you have done all of that, you will be taken to the game’s interface which starts off with a neat game video (see below screenshot).
You can either watch the complete video, or you can choose to skip it as well via the Skip button at the top right of the screen. Once you have watched the video or skipped it, you will be taken to the level selection screen which resembles the screenshot below.
Each main level has a large number of sub levels inside of it, and you can choose to play them by clicking on the main icon of a level. If you look closely, the level selection screen is a map of India. After choosing a level, you will be taken to the corresponding puzzle associated with the level. The game is nothing but a large collection of various puzzles to test your skills and wits.
The above screen displays the gameplay screen. Here, what you see above is the instructions screen. You can either use touch gestures or mouse clicks to play the game. Once you bypass the instructions screen, the gameplay screen takes over.
You can see the remaining time meter at the left side of the screen. The game can be paused via the pause button at the bottom left, and you can see the score in the score meter at the top left of the screen. The instructions vary for each puzzle, but the basic principle is based on touch gestures or mouse clicks. There is no keyboard involved in the game.

Conclusion:
Jewels of East India Company is a pretty well designed game with smooth graphics which is a bit on the heavy side of 131 Mb. So make sure that you download it only on a unmetered connection else you may encounter big charges against your internet usage cycle. The game makes for a great way to look at things in a different perspective, and I really like its concept!
