Mine Gold And Score Points In This Free Windows 8 Game
Gold Miner Classic is a free Windows 8 game in which you play as the gold miner who has to mine gold from under the surface of earth. In the game, you are situated at the top, and you have a moving hook which keeps changing directions. When you think that the hook is in the appropriate direction, you can click anywhere on the screen to drop the hook down below the surface so that it hooks on to gold or diamonds. Throughout the game, you will also find rocks under the surface which you can hook onto by mistake, and this wastes a lot of time as mining rocks takes a longer time and awards you with less money than mining gold. You have to reach a set target of the amount of gold that you have to mine in a limited time.

Features of Gold Miner Classic…
Gold Miner Classic when installed and launched on your system, will present you with an interface which looks like the below screenshot.
As you can see in the screenshot above, you can choose to start the game, view the Instructions, High Scores or simply check out more games by the developer on the App Store by clicking on the buttons which correspond to the same actions. Let’s read the Instructions by clicking on the Instructions button now.
Above, you can see the detailed instructions of the game. To return to the main menu of the game, simply click on the Close text written in the above screen at the top right, and you will be returned to the main menu. Now let’s start the game by clicking on the Start button.
You can clearly see the miner in the above screenshot perched atop the surface of earth with his hook and cable. To drop the hook, you have to click anywhere on the screen. You can see in the screenshot above that I have successfully caught a gold ingot! Yay! 
The remaining time in seconds and the level of the gameplay is displayed at the top right corner, whereas the money collected and the Goal amount is shown at the top right corner of the screen. Once you successfully complete a level, you will be taken to the shop screen where you can purchase certain power ups which will hold for the next level.
You can see the shop and the cost associated with various items in the screenshot above. Once you make the purchase, the amount will be subtracted from the money that you would have collected in the previous level, and then you can click on the Next Level button in green at the top right corner of the screen to proceed to the next level. The above screen will, however, present itself to you only if you are able to successfully complete a level. If you fail to complete a level, you will be shown a screen which looks like the below screenshot.
Here you can choose to play again, submit your score to the leaderboard, view the High scores on the leaderboard, or access more games by the developer. Overall, this is all that you need to know about this game to get the hang of it and get addicted to it!

The Verdict…
Gold Miner Classic is a great game for Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 devices that allows you to mine gold as the cute miner. The game’s graphics are cute, and the only complaint that I have with this game is that it has ads, which is a minor annoyance. The game is well designed, and surely deserves a 4 out of 5 rating!
