Today we have brought 3
These free Windows 8 Sound Recorder apps are very useful for a number of recording jobs. You can conveniently use them to take notes, interviews, practice for speeches, or record sounds for any other purpose.
The Sound Recorder apps we are going to review today are:
- Easy Sound Recorder
- Microphone Pro
- Speech Timer Free
Easy Sound Recorder
Easy Sound Recorder is a free Windows 8 Sound Recorder app that lets you record sounds using your system’s microphone and listen to them anytime. You can also share the recorded sounds with others via e-mail or Skydrive.
The various functional buttons are pretty bold and make it convenient to operate the app. The list of all recordings get stored within the app, which can be easily accessed later. The Last Record option provided in the app also enables you to listen to the recently recorded sound. Using the Settings button, you can adjust microphone volume and choose a software to play recording.
You can also buy app’s premium version and enjoy extra features such as choosing the format (mp3, WMA, WAV) for the purpose of recording sound.
Microphone Pro is a free Windows 8 Sound Recorder app that lets you record sounds, saves them, allows playback, and uploads the recordings to your Skydrive. So, you don’t need to manually upload recordings to your Skydrive.
The app is very handy with easy controls and user-friendly interface. Once you have recorded a sound, you get the Save option in the app. You can enter a name and save the recorded file in the app. You will also find Skydrive button on the app’s screen that lets you directly upload the desired recording to your Skydrive. However, you must be logged in to your Microsoft account to do so. If you aren’t logged in, the app will present a screen to add your Microsoft account and then your upload will begin.
Speech Timer Free
As the name speaks, Speech Timer Free is a free Windows 8 Sound Recorder app that comes with a built in timer. The app can record sound up to 60 minutes. The timer in the app lets you set recording Start and End time. So, you get time to prepare and have freedom to choose which part of the speech you want to record.
Just like the other two sound recorder apps mentioned above, this app also uses your PC’s microphone to record sound. On the recording screen, a big microphone icon appears that changes colors as the recording progresses. Initially, this microphone icon appears to be grey. As you start recording, it turns Green. The color changes to Orange, and then Red as you reach halfway and finally near to the end.
From the functionality point of view, I found one important feature missing in this app. The app is good to record sounds for instant purposes but you can’t save recordings in the app or on your system. It saves a recording for the current instant, plays it, and then removes it from the app’s memory as soon as you click Refresh button.
These were some useful sound recording apps we have found. Convert your PC to a Dictaphone for free and enjoy a smooth, hassle-free recording experience. Share your feedback via comments.
