Windows 8 Cloud Storage App Free: JustCloud

JustCloud is a free cloud storage app for Windows 8 and 8.1 devices. When you install and launch the app, you will be prompted to login to the app with your JustCloud credentials. Once you have done that, you will be taken to the main screen of the app where you will be able to upload documents, download your already uploaded documents, etc. The app’s interface is pretty slick and mimics the native apps of the Windows 8 ecosystem by providing you with a tiled interface.

JustCloud is available for free from the Windows App Store.

Using this Windows 8 Cloud Storage app…

When you install and launch JustCloud on your Windows 8 device, you will be presented with an interface which looks like the below screenshot.

JustCloud Main Screen

Once you have entered your credentials, you will be taken to the actual interface of the app from where you can start uploading or accessing your previously uploaded documents. This screen looks like the below screenshot.

JustCloud Dashboard

Let’s start by selecting a file for uploading it to the cloud. I chose to upload a file, and hence I clicked on Upload a file tile. Soon enough, I was taken to my file browser screen from where I was asked to select a file for uploading it to JustCloud. I selected a random file, and as soon as I clicked on it, it was ticked right away.

JustCloud File Chosen For Uploading

You can select multiple files this way, and then click on the Upload File button at the bottom of the screen to begin the upload process of the file. Once you have clicked on the Upload File button, you will be presented with a screen which looks like the below screenshot.

JustCloud Upload Complete

The upload progress of the file will be displayed at the top of the screen, and once the file upload has been completed, you can see it in the next screen.

JustCloud Uploaded File

When you click on the uploaded file, you will be presented with other options as shown in the below screenshot.

As you can see, you can open the file, save it, delete it, or download it. In addition, you can also generate a link through which you can share the file with others using the Sharing button. You can get back to the main screen of the app at any time by clicking on the back arrow button at the top left corner of the screen. Similarly, you can upload photos, take photos (this involves opening of an integrated webcam app and then allows you to upload the taken picture on your JustCloud account), take voice notes, etc., and all of these can be easily shared to your JustCloud account as these can be done via integrated options in the app.

This concludes the how-to on using the JustCloud app on your Windows 8/8.1 device. Also try some other Windows 8 cloud storage apps we covered earlier.
