Features Of Programming Tutorials For Windows 8/8.1…
When you install and launch Programming Tutorials on your Windows 8/8.1 device, you will be greeted with a window which looks like the below screenshot.
As you can see in the above screenshot, you have two kinds of views, namely the Categories and Latest Tutorials view. Under the categories, you will be able to see the list of categories for which video lessons are available, and under the Latest Tutorials column, you will be able to see the tiles of the latest video tutorials which have been uploaded to the app. Let’s quickly go ahead and select a category for now.
In the above screen, I have chosen the category Android. Under the category, you can see the tile of the lessons available. You can select the language of the tutorials from the language drop down menu, and you can select the author for the tutorials from the authors drop down menu right next to the languages drop down menu. You can also return to the main screen of the app at any time by pressing the back arrow button at the top left. For now, let’s click on the only available lesson tile and see what happens.
As can be seen in the above screenshot, you can see the playback of the video lesson that I have chosen from the list at the left side of the screen. It’s always best to proceed from the first lesson, as all the lessons are in continuity. The video player at the right has the standard playback controls that allow you to pause the video, play the video, seek the video, change the volume or to make the video fullscreen or otherwise. Overall, the player interface is pretty well designed. Also, the video lessons are pretty well detailed, and you can really understand a lot through the lessons, and who knows, you may even create a hit app and release it on the Play Store!
Similarly, the app offers video lessons for other courses like C#, C++, PHP, etc., which can be chosen from the main screen. From there onwards, the process of using the app is same. The app has no control bars anywhere, and this makes it as minimalist as possible. The app also supports snapped view, which encourages multitasking!

The Verdict…
Programming Tutorials is a great app to have on your device if you are looking for an app that can teach you how to program in various languages in a jiffy. Overall, the app is pretty polished, and works incredibly well on all Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 machines, and I must say that I am thoroughly and totally impressed by the quality of the video lessons that it offers. This app is totally worthy of getting a 4 out of 5 rating!
