Windows 8 App To Manage Project Time Slots: Timerecording

Timerecording is a free Windows 8 app that allows you to manage timeslots on your projects. When you launch the app, you can easily create a project, add subtasks to it and start managing your time. You can assign time slots, breaks etc. to particular tasks, making the entire process of project creation, handling and management a lot more easier than usual. Companies managing big projects may find this app incredibly useful and handy in a lot of situations because of its ease and comfort of use. Not only this, the app allows you to manage project tasks for a day, a week or even for a month by using week view, month view, etc. You can also manage multiple projects at once by creating multiple projects at one go.

Features of Timerecording for Windows 8…

When you install and launch Timerecording on your Windows 8 or your Windows 8.1 device, you will be presented with an interface which looks like the below screenshot.

Timerecording main screenYou can create a new project by adding the project name in the bottom left corner. You can see that I have already added a project name in the Add Project text field. Once you have added a name, simply click on the Add Project button.

You can add tasks to a project by launching the control bar, and clicking on the Add Tasks button at the extreme right in the control bar. Once you click it, you can choose the project name from the drop down menu, and then click type the desired task name. You can also choose from a set of various images offered by the app for using as the tile of your task.

Once all that is done, simply click on the Add button, and your task will be added with its tile visible on the main screen. Similarly, you can add as many tasks as you wish to add within a project.

You can see the above screen with the tasks displayed under the project heading. Now let’s assign some time slots to a particular task! Click on the tile of any one task that you just added, and you will be presented with the interface shown in the above screenshot. You will have to launch the control bar by right clicking, and click on the Add Time Recording button in the extreme right to get the dialog box shown in the below screenshot.

Once you have added time slots to multiple tasks, you will be able to see a screen which looks like the below screenshot.

You will be able to see the task distribution in a neat circle pie chart. Overall, the app has a great way of informing you about your tasks, if you ask me! You can also choose to view the month view, day view etc. from the control bar. Also, in the main screen of the app, you will be able to see the total time distribution available for each of these tasks at the top right.

Timerecording is a truly great app for managing the time duration of your projects with ease and comfort.
