Windows 8 App To Create Presentations: Presentation Next
Presentation
Presentation Next is available for free from the Windows App Store. Let’s read more about this app in detail now.
Features of Presentation Next…
When you install and launch Presentation Next on your Windows 8/8.1 device, you will be presented with an interface which looks like the below screenshot.
As this is the first time that I am running this app, you can see that I am presented with a small tutorial that allows me to understand the concepts of using the app. You can either go through this tutorial or skip it by pressing the Skip button at the bottom right. Once that’s done, you will be taken to the main screen of the app, from where you can start creating spectacular looking presentations!
Here you can select a template for your presentation. For now, let’s keep things simple and go with the Blank template. Once you have clicked on it, you will be taken to the presentation creation screen.
The above screen is what the presentation creation screen looks like. Suppose you want to add a text field, simply click anywhere in the middle of the screen, and you will see a circular menu pop up.
Let’s take a closer look in this menu.
As you can see, the menu allows you to paste information from clipboard, insert clip arts etc., create drawings, undo, add text and a lot more. This is the basic menu of the app. If you wish to see the detailed menu of the app, simply right click anywhere inside the canvas of the app and you will see the control bars pop up from the top and the bottom of the screen, and these control bars will allow you to access various other options.
You can add a new slide via the + button at the top control bar, and delete a slide by selecting the slide and pressing the cross button in the top control bar, and at the bottom, you can access various other options that allow you to open a new document, existing document, save the presentation, view slide show, print, zoom, etc. All these options are very handy indeed.
The best part is that the app saves the presentations in HTML5 format, so they can be opened up in web browsers!
Overall, the app works great for creating HTML5 presentations in metro ecosystem!
