Windows 8 Speech Recognition And Speech Translation App

SpeechTrans Translator is a free speech recognition and translation app for Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 devices which stands out from other translation apps in a unique way. This app allows you to literally speak into the microphone of your device, and then using the app’s inbuilt text to speech engine, the app converts the language in the desired language and shows the translation in text format on the screen. This translation can also be played back via the app in appropriate pronunciation.

Not only does the app recognize English, but it also recognizes languages like Turkish, Arabic etc., the only catch being that the language has to be chosen beforehand via the app’s menu. This app is amazing to have meaningful conversations with people in foreign countries, as it can quickly recognize what the other person is saying.

SpeechTrans Translator is available for free from the Windows App Store and cuts the hassle of typing in a portion of text that needs to be translated. Let’s read more about this app now.

I absolutely love this app, and would recommend it to anyone!

The verdict…

SpeechTrans Translator is my favorite translation app on the Windows 8 store, hands down! Not only does the app recognize your speech and convert and show it to the desired translated language on the screen, but it also allows you to play back the translated speech in correct accent so it’s more understandable to the people who you are talking to. In a way, this app does all the talking by allowing the others to speak into the app and the app basically translates their speech to your language, and vice versa.

I rate this app a 4 out of 5.
