How To Specify Custom Events By Name And Date, Count Down To Them?
Step 1: Once you’re done with the usual mumbo jumbo of finding Custom Countdown from the Windows App Store and installing it, getting started with the app is a breeze. Once you launch the app, you should see a screen like this:
As illustrated above, the initial configuration screen allows you to specify the exact date of the event to be counted down to, via drop down menus for month, day and year. In addition to that, you can also enter the name of the event. Pretty simple stuff!
Step 2: Once you configure the date of the event to be counted down to and hit Save, Custom Countdown instantly gets to work, counting down the days, hours, minutes and seconds left until the event. Assuming you’ve allowed the app to work in the background and show notifications, you can easily close Custom Countdown, and it’ll keep on counting down to the event. Here’s a screenie:
That’s all there’s to it. You can change the event and/or the date to be counted down to at any time via the in-app options. How cool is that?
Custom Countdown is handy countdown app. It’s simple, easy to use, and presents the countdown in a nicely laid out format. Add to it the fact that it features live tile support, and this thing becomes even better. Try it out and let me know what you think in the comments below.
