The storyline of the game is very gripping, and the graphics are amazingly intense. Before you download this game, let me make it clear that this game is very large – about 308 Mb in size, so it’s better to download it on unmetered internet connections. When you launch the game, you will be presented with awesome video cut scenes that will make it clear to you what exactly is happening in the game. You can choose to skip these by pressing either Enter or the Esc button, and then you will be taken to the main screen of the game.
LEGO HERO FACTORY INVASION FROM BELOW is available as a free download from the Windows App Store.
Controls of the game…
For touch-screen devices, just use the on screen controls. For non touch screen devices, use the controls below.
- Left/Right arrow buttons: Movement.
- Up arrow: Jump. (Double tap the up arrow for a double jump, which is higher)
- Down arrow: Dive down to cut a jump short.
- Spacebar: Shoot the weapon.
Launching the game will show you videos, which highlight the events before the game starts. These video scenes are of amazing clarity and give a cinematic feel to the game. You can see the snap from a video scene below.
After the video scenes are done, you will be presented with the main screen of the game, where you can choose to start the game. This screen also has great graphics, with a rotating Lego hero at the top in its armor.
Clicking on the Play button at the bottom starts the game. The basic missions are to collect the materials needed to build your armor. So in the starting of the game, the hero has no armor, and you have to guide him to boxes, shoot them and collect the materials from inside the boxes to build your armor. The below screenshot is from the first basic mission (armor materials collection).
The above screen also details the on screen controls. The controls at the left are for movement, and at the right are for shooting, and jumping up respectively. When all the materials are collected, you will be transported to the main mission (see below screenshot).
You can see the various parameters like health, endurance, hero points etc., at the top. Completing missions gives you more hero points which you can spend to upgrade your abilities. The mission completion screen is shown below.
Clicking on the tick in the above screen will take you to the shop where you can buy upgrades and super upgrades. A super upgrade purchase screen is detailed below.
As you can see, I have 11 hero points (see top right), and the super upgrade for health costs 10 hero points, so I can purchase it. Clicking on the indicated button in the above screenshot will confirm the purchase and activate the upgrade.
Overall, this is how the game progresses. The in-game menu can be brought up by pressing the Esc. button (which also pauses the game) while in the game at any point of time, and you can choose to save your game in this menu. My impressions of the game are pretty good, after playing it for an hour on stretch!
- Amazing graphics.
- Great cut scene movies.
- Smooth gameplay.
- Easy to understand controls.
- Does drain the battery, but definitely not a battery hog! The battery drain compared to the graphics and gameplay experience is pretty low.
- Touch screen controls are positioned appropriately and conveniently for tablet users.
- Large size.
- Might not work smoothly (or at all!) on lower end devices.
LEGO HERO FACTORY INVASION FROM BELOW is definitely a game worthy of checking out if you are a fan of games with great graphics. I can personally say that this game is amazing, and after an hour of gameplay, I was still yearning for more! So it’s fair to say that my overall impressions of the game are great, and the only thing that doesn’t sit well with me is its large size. Well, apart from that, there is nothing not to love about this game, right from its great graphics, to gripping storyline, to background music to cut scene cinematic videos.
This game is worthy of a 4.5 out of 5 rating!
