Cloud Nanny is a free webcam surveillance app for Windows 8 that automatically keeps clicking photos using your device’s webcam and streams them online. The app has a pretty clean interface and works great on all Windows 8 and 8.1 devices. When you launch the app, you will be asked to allow access to the app to use your webcam, and once the access has been allowed, the app will begin webcam surveillance on Windows 8. It will begin recording activities via taking photos at regular intervals and streaming them online. You need to have a registered account (free), however, to view those photos online.

When you install and launch Cloud Nanny on your Windows 8 device, you will be presented with an interface which looks like the below screenshot.
Click allow in the above screen, and the app will be able to use your webcam. If you click Block in the above screen, however, the app will be useless for you. Once you have allowed the app to take photos, the app will start taking photos from webcam at regular intervals.
You can see in the above screen that the app is active and is easily clicking photos. You can stop the process of clicking photos by clicking on Pause Recording button in the bottom right corner of the screen. You can also use the control bar of the app for various other features like viewing your photos on the web, etc. To view your images on the web however, you will need to create an account, and that can be done by clicking on the Create User Account button in the bottom left of the screen. Once you click on this button, you will be redirected to the website where you can sign up for a new account. Signing up is as easy as choosing your desired username and password, and once that’s done, you can login and start watching your stream!
The app is great in the way that it lets you use your Windows 8 webcam for free online video surveillance, because you can see whatever is in front of your device at any time by logging in.
