Free Windows 8 Racing Game: Old School Racer 2
Old School Racer 2 is a well-designed racing game app for Windows 8 and 8.1 where the focus is on bike racing. You get a limited amount of time in which you have to complete the level in the minimum possible time. The game has a host of various bikes which can be unlocked from the in-game credits which you earn. Initially, you start off with a very basic model of a bike, and you can then buy new ones as you progress through the game, earning more and more coins. The game allows you to test drive the various bikes as well if you can’t afford them, and this is a very welcome feature as the users upon earning set number of coins can decide on which bike they actually want to buy. The gameplay is set in a 2D environment where the timer and the score appears in the top right screen corner along with the pause button allowing you to pause the game and bring up various options which you can toggle within the game.

Controls:
W: Accelerate.
S: Brake.
A: Strafe left.
D: Strafe right.
The main features of the game:
When you launch the game on your device, the first thing which you will see is a prompt which allows you to tap on the screen to continue or head into the main menu of the game itself.
Simply tap on the above screen and you will be brought into a screen where you will be able to enter your name. This is the name with which your player profile is created.
Once done, click on the enter button to head into the main menu of the game.
The first thing that you will see is the bike selection screen above. Once you have selected your desired bike, you will be taken to the stage selection screen.
Click on the stage which you wish to play in the map, and then click on the Race button at the left side of the screen. Once you’ve done that, you will be taken to the gameplay screen. You can see the controls in the first screenshot that follows and can see the gameplay in action in the screenshot right below it.
You can pause the game at any time via the pause button at the top right corner of the screen. Once you crash or complete a level, you will accordingly get a level failed or level complete prompt on your screen.
