Playing this Free Shooting Game…
When you install and launch the game on your Windows 8/8.1 device, you will be presented with an interface which resembles the below screenshot.
As you can see in the above screen, I am logged into the game, and my profile information appears in the top left corner. This is basically the menu screen, and to select an option, you basically have to shoot the boards corresponding to the action that you want to perform. For example, let’s say that you want to practice, so aim the gun to the board marked Practice, and fire the gun. Soon enough, you will find yourself in the practice mode.
You can see the chains with a target attached at the end. In this mode, you have a limited time of 40 seconds to hit the target as many times as you possibly can, and the timer ticks away in the top left corner of the screen. You can pause the game at any time by either pressing the Esc. key, or by clicking on the pause button at the bottom left with your mouse. Oh, and to reveal your cursor, you do need to press the Esc. key, because by default, the mouse cursor is hidden and it will actually be controlling the gun. So as soon as the Esc. button is pressed, the gun stays in the last position where the Esc. key was pressed. To reload and cock the gun again, press the R button on your keyboard. The faster you reload, the more shots you can fire! So fire away, fellas!
So now it’s time for the actual gameplay. Make sure you are connected to the internet, and shoot the board that says Play in the main screen of the game. You will be paired up with other players waiting for partners to play, and soon enough, you will find yourself in the combat zone. Don’t worry if you have to wait a bit for the match to be made…the wait may be because of less number of players waiting in queue or a slow internet connection. Don’t fret, you’ll soon be paired up with a worthy gun wielder!
So the main gameplay screen looks like the above screenshot. You can see your score as well as your opponent’s score at the top left corner of the screen. Just like the practice mode, this mode is also time bounded and you will be able to see the timer at the top left corner. The controls for the Practice mode and this mode are the same, so you can use those controls that I talked about earlier in this review. In the above mode, I have to shoot suspended truck bodies and the challenge here is that the trucks keep moving away as you shoot them. So all in all, this is how you play the game.
The above screen is displayed when you complete a level. When you win, you earn reward points that can be used to purchase other guns from the Gun shop on the main screen. The reward points needed to unlock the guns are shown next to each gun that you point in the Gun shop.
Once you have sufficient reward points, you can go ahead and purchase the guns. This concludes the how to on using this game app for your Windows 8 device. I do hope that you will like this app!
Shooting Showdown is a great game to keep you entertained for hours without getting bored at all. Overall, this is a great way to stay entertained and while away your time on boring days when you don’t have anything else to do.
