Free Music Player App For Windows 8: Audio Player
Audio Player, as the name suggests is a very capable audio player app for Windows 8 and 8.1 devices. The app is capable of playing the popular audio file formats like mp3, ogg, flac etc. When you run the app on your device, the app shows the music collection in your music library by default. Should you want to play an audio file located elsewhere on your device, you can do so by clicking on the Open File button at the bottom left corner of the screen and then navigating to the location where your audio or music file is located through the metro file browser interface. Upon opening your audio file, you will be taken to the playback screen which allows you to control the music playback via a host of toggles like playback controls, seek controls etc.

When you install and run the app on your device, you will be taken to the main screen of the app right off the bat. This resembles the screenshot below.
Towards the right side of the screen, you will be able to see the music tracks present in your Music library on your device. You can click on any one of these tracks to directly start their playback. When you click on a track, the playback screen follows as can be seen in the screenshot below.
In the playback screen, you can seek the track, play or pause it or toggle the volume as well via the volume slider at the bottom of the screen. You can also choose to go back to the previous screen via the back arrow button at the top left corner of the screen. The app also works fully well in snapped mode which allows you to multitask.
Coming back to the main screen of the app, if you wish to open up some track from a different location other than your default music library, you can choose to do so by clicking on the Open File button at the bottom left of the screen which fires up the Metro File browser interface from where you cam navigate and select the track that you wish to play back.
