Real Highway Car Racing is a free car racing game for Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 devices which allows you to race against the computer and set the best time and highest top score. When you install and launch the game, all you have to do is to select your desired car from the garage, and then choose to start the game itself. When you start the game, you will be presented with the car which accelerates automatically, and all you have to do is to guide it left or right to avoid it from hitting any passing cars or obstacles, and you can also use the boost while in the race to gain a significant increment in speed. Near missing other vehicles will make you earn skill points and recharge your boost meter faster. These skill points will allow you to purchase new cars in the shop.

Features of Real Highway Car Racing for Windows 8:
Upon installing and launching Real Highway Car Racing on your Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 device, you will be presented with an interface resembling the below screenshot.
In the above screen you can choose to view either the Settings, Missions, Hi-score or view the Garage itself. Clicking Settings will fire up the basic settings of the game which will allow you to fine tune the settings like sound, etc.
Clicking on the Missions tab will show you the missions that you have to accomplish in the race and so on.
To start a race, you have to select a car from the bottom of the screen using the arrow buttons on either side at the bottom, and you can pick any of your purchased cars. You can purchase new cars by spending your skill points that you earn in the game. If it is your first time playing the game, then only the blue car will be unlocked at first. Simply select that, and click on the Play button at the top of the screen. Now, you will be taken to the gameplay screen itself.
You will be first detailed with the controls of the app in the gameplay screen, which are very easy to understand, but difficult to master. You have to control the automatically accelerating car via the left and right arrow buttons, use the down arrow for brake, space or up arrow button for boost. The objective is to go as far as you can without hitting any other vehicle. Once you hit a vehicle or any other obstacle on the road, the car will burst into flames, and it’s game over then and there!
You can pause the game at any given time by pressing the Esc. key, and you will be presented with the standard pause menu option of resuming the game or reverting to main menu of the game. You can also see your active mission objectives in the above pause menu. Once you crash, your game will be over and you will be presented with your race stats on your screen.

Real Highway Car Racing is an incredible game to download and have on your device if you are a fan of racing games for Windows 8. The game is lightweight, and doesn’t drain a lot of battery as well while running on your device. Overall, the game has a nice feel to it, and the only major drawback of the game is that it does not play in full 16:9 resolution, but rather plays in a small section of the screen space. Apart from that, the game is truly amazing and deserves a 4 out of 5 rating!
