Free Alcoholic Drink Recipe App For Windows 8: MixDat
MixDat is a free alcoholic drink recipe app for Windows 8 and 8.1 devices which serves to the palette of all you connoisseurs of fine alcohol out there. The app has a collection of over 8000 drink recipes, all sorted according to their categories. When you launch the app, you will be able to choose the drinks that you want to make by clicking on the type of drink, aka punches, cocktails, etc. Once you have selected that, you can easily click on the recipe previews shown and you will be presented with the recipe interface which will allow you to read the instructions on how to stir up the perfect drink!
MixDat is available as a free download from the Windows App Store.
Main features of MixDat for Windows 8 and 8.1:
When MixDat is launched on your device, you will be presented with the main interface which showcases the type of drinks that you can prepare using the app via means of interactive tiles which reveal the content when you hover your mouse over the tiles.
When you click on any one of the type of drinks in the main screen, you will be presented with the drink recipes that you can prepare under that category. In my case, I clicked on Punches and almost immediately I was presented with all the recipes available under the Punches category on my screen.
When you hover over a recipe tile, you will be able to read a brief description about the drink type. When you click on a recipe, you will be presented with the recipe instruction screen as seen below.
Overall, the instructions are written in a language which is extremely easy to comprehend and this makes for a nice overall experience. If you have the necessary ingredients, you can easily follow the instructions in the app and create an awesome drink like a master bartender! The app also allows you to add a drink recipe to favorites by clicking on the Add to favorites button at the top of each drink recipe. Once added to the favorites, you can view the favorited recipes by clicking on the Favorites button in the app’s control bar which can be easily revealed by right clicking on the screen.
The control bar launches from the top of the screen and has only the Favorites button in it as you can see in the above screenshot. This makes for a very minimalistic experience which is refined for Windows 8 and 8.1. This basically wraps the main features of the MixDat app for Windows 8 and 8.1.

The verdict:
MixDat is a well designed app for Windows 8 and 8.1 which makes for a great download on your device if you like experimenting with your alcohol. The recipes in the app are easy to follow and hence the app makes for a great companion if you have guests coming over or are simply looking for a few ways to spice up your house party!
