Flappy Bird Game For Windows 8: Flappy Bird New

Flappy Bird New is a free game for Windows 8 and 8.1 which is very similar to the original FlappyBird game. When you launch the game, you will be presented with an interface where you can start the game either by clicking anywhere on the screen or by pressing the spacebar. The game allows for versatility in controls by allowing you to use either the spacebar or the mouse clicks for making the bird fly. As soon as you let go of the spacebar or the mouse click, the bird will fall. To keep it flying, you need to keep clicking or keep tapping the spacebar.

Flappy Bird New is available for free from the Windows App Store.

Flappy Bird New Game in progress

In the above screen, you can see my game in progress. To keep the bird flying, you have to keep clicking on the screen or keep pressing your spacebar key. The game has a pretty random difficulty level as sometimes, you may get two pipes with openings for the bird to pass at the same level which is pretty easy to maneuver, but at other times, you may see that the opening of one pipe is somewhere and the other is at a completely different height. The game is pretty challenging as getting a high score is pretty difficult on it.

Flappy Bird New Game Over

The above screen is shown to you when your game gets over, i.e., when you crash the bird or it falls down on the ground. This concludes the main features of Flappy Bird New for Windows 8 and 8.1.

The verdict:

Flappy Bird New is a great FlappyBird alternative for Windows 8 and 8.1. My only gripe with the game is that it has a lot of ads, which although don’t get in the way of the game, but still, the developer must try to minimize them. Anyway, the game is pretty nice, runs smoothly and lightweight as well, so I’m willing to overlook that for now, and would go ahead and rate this game a 4 out of 5.
