Access Your Google Drive In Metro Style: Google Drive Touch
Google
Google Drive Touch is available for free from the Windows App Store.
Main features of Google Drive Touch for Windows 8 and 8.1…
When you install and launch the Google Drive Touch app on your device, you will be presented with the below interface.
Here, you will basically be asked to login to the app by entering your login credentials and password. Once logged in, you will be asked to grant access to the app to allow it to access your drive. You have to approve this, and once approved, you will be presented with the drive contents on your screen in an interface which looks like the below screenshot.
You can see that I’m logged into the app and you can also see my profile picture at the top right of the screen. You can click on the profile picture to be presented with options to log out etc. When you click on any of the contents on your drive, the clicked content will be presented to you in the default app, which has been assigned to perform that function. For instance, when I clicked on my picture, I was presented with the picture which opened up in the image viewer in a snapped format.
The app also has a handy search bar at the top right, which can be used to search for content easily. You can also access the control bar of the app by right clicking on the screen which allows you to upload files to your drive. You can see the control bar and the various functions that it offers in the screenshot below.
This sums up the main features of Google Drive Touch for Windows 8 and 8.1. You can also check out the Google Drive Metro and Dropbox apps for Windows 8 and 8.1.
The verdict…
Google Drive Touch is a well designed app for Windows 8 and 8.1 which makes for a great download on all devices running Windows 8 or 8.1. The app provides a very nifty and convenient way to provide access to the content stored on your Google Drive cloud storage, and hence is also a great way to manage your files. The touch screen support is the icing on the cake, and the only thing that I don’t really like about the app is that it is ad supported.
I rate the app a 4.5 out of 5!
