Free Puzzle Game For Windows 8: Dotster
Dotster is a free puzzle game app for Windows 8 and 8.1. When you run the game on your device, you will be presented with a screen which enables you to start the gameplay by selecting the level that you wish to play. Once you have chosen the desired level which you want to play, you will be taken to the gameplay screen itself. The first level will show you a brief tutorial followed by the gameplay screen itself. The object of the game is to connect or link similar dots together by clicking and dragging your mouse on them. When the similar dots have been linked and you have released the mouse button, the dots will pop with a neat animation and you will be shown your score at the top of the screen.

When you install and run Dotster on your Windows 8 or 8.1 device, you will be taken to the level selection screen of the game as can be seen in the screenshot below.
Here, you can simply click on a stage that you wish to play and you’ll be taken to the gameplay screen almost immediately. You can also choose to access the settings of the game by clicking on the gear icon at the top right corner of the screen. Once you have clicked on that, you will be taken to the settings menu where you can toggle sound, etc. Coming to the gameplay screen, when you click on any stage in particular, you will be taken to the screen of gameplay. In the below screen, I clicked on the first stage and as that is the first stage in the game, I was shown a brief tutorial prompt which showed me how to link the dots to create a high score.
Simply tap or click on the above prompt to start the gameplay. The gameplay screen looks like the screenshot below.
In the above screen, you can see that I have already linked 6 dots shown in green. As I was still holding my mouse button at the time of the screenshot, the dots haven’t popped yet. As soon as you release the mouse button, the dots will pop. You can see the dots left for removing and remaining moves at the top center of the screen. The game can also be paused at any time via the pause button at the top right. The aim is to link as many dots as possible in one move. Once a level is completed, you will be shown your score in the screen below.
