Windows 8 Running Game Free: The Gunstringer
The Gunstringer is a free Windows 8 Running Game app. The app is similar to Temple Run 2 in kind of the gameplay that it offers, but the graphics and the overall performance if were to be rated, I would actually rate them higher than Temple Run. The app works well on all Windows 8 devices; though it supports touch controls, it also supports keyboard controls for devices which are not touch enabled. This versatility of the app to run well on both touch and non touch devices without hanging makes for a perfect balance.
In the game, you play as the skeleton who used to be a Gunstringer in his previous life. The skeleton has escaped from the grave and death is trying to catch him. The skeleton has to pass the obstacles and shoot the enemies on the sidelines to reach a high score. This pretty much winds up the storyline of the game.
Controls…
The controls of this free Windows 8 running game are relatively easy and straightforward. You use the arrow buttons on your keyboard to navigate the cowboy-ish skeleton. Up arrow makes him jump, down arrow allows him to slide and left and right arrows allow him to move left and right respectively. When the enemies appear on the sides, you can shoot them with the spacebar key. There is no need to aim, you simply have to press the spacebar button to shoot enemies. Aiming is automatically taken care of. But your timing of pressing the spacebar has to be accurate.

When you launch the game, you will be presented with a screen where you can log in to your Xbox Live profile to link the game with the internet. Doing so is beneficial because you will get bonus items everyday if your game is linked. However, this isn’t necessary at all. At the bottom of the screen, you will see various options.
These options, as you can see above, are Endless Run, Story, Tutorial, Store, Achievements and Leaderboards.
Endless Run: This feature enables you to run endlessly and the objective is to create a high score. Click on this option, and then click on CANYON towards the left side of the screen at roughly the centre and the game will begin.
Story: This is the story mode of the game. In this mode also, it’s like the Endless Run. The only difference is that there will be a commentary going on in the background about the Gunstringer.
Tutorial: Shows you the controls of the game. The skeleton keeps running and you have to control it using controls shown on the screen. This will help you get better acquainted to controls of the app.
Store: You can buy coins and gems here.
Achievements: Shows you the achievements that you have unlocked.
Leaderboards: Available if you have linked the game to Xbox Live. This option shows the highest worldwide scores.

The skeleton is dressed up as a cowboy and has a gun in his hand. On the way you can collect coins, gems, and shoot enemies. The objective of the game is to create the highest score possible.
