SketchBook Express: Drawing App For Windows 8

SketchBook Express App is a free drawing app for Windows 8 that enables you to create a free hand paintings by using the amazing drawing tools at zero cost. Basically, it’s a virtual sketch book that enables you to perform free hand sketching, thereby filling it up with different effects such as colors, contrasts, crop, and canvas size.

This Windows 8 drawing app offers two pucks at the top of the interface in which one puck is used for picking the colors and second puck is for changing the size of the painting brushes.

You can use any brush with a single click on it. Also, you will come across the Menu icon which consists of various tools such as turn on symmetry, clear canvas, use color picker, change the brush size, and save your image.

With a right-click on the interface, you will be displayed with three options — New, Open, and Export. The “New” option lets you create a new page for a new sketching. “Open” option lets you open the saved sketches to edit further. And the “Export” option lets you save your sketch in any of the two available formats such as PNG or JPEG.

    I have this app on my Windows Surface RT. My friend has it on her IPad and it has WAY more features than mine. Why is that? I think there should at least be layers.

    You have the free version; she has the full (paid) version. Buy the Sketchpad Pro from the app store and you will have the same features.
